The rain fell softly over the camp of Drizzleclan, the sweet pitter-patter of it soaking into the ground lulling cats to sleep. One cat, in particular, was just waking up to the morning shower. It was ironic, seeing as the cat's name was Eveningshower. Stepping out into the rain, the deep brown she-cat shook her head in awe. Looking around, she could see the leaves on the trees growing heavy, and their colors changing. Leaf-fall was hitting Drizzleclan with intense speed, not that it was a bad thing. The cat walked further away from the den, checking to make sure that the fresh-kill pile was full enough for the day. By the looks of it, the dawn patrol had just returned, and brought prey with them. The deputy hadn't been up to assign the cats to their patrols, as she had been up late on the moonhigh patrol. A thought hit her, but she shrugged it off with ease. Swampclan had no reason to attack, but if they ever did, they would probably choose a time like this, when the skies were grey and the ground moist. Eveningshower turned away from the entrance, watching as other cats awoke.

The rain fell down like water on a lake in the DrizzleClan camp. The soft melody of the rain against the ground lulled the cats to sleep. One cat,an apprentice layed with his head outside the den. He was black as night, his paws, muzzle and chest were white. A sharp streak of white shot up his forehead giving him his name,Arrowpaw. Ocean green eyes stared blankly at the falling rain. A look of boredom and sadness crossed the young tom's face. The rain slipped from a over hanging leaf, causing it to spill and dump on Arrowpaw's muzzle. He snorted in surprise and glared at nothing in particular.
Arrowpaw was unhappy for the downpour. He wanted to go hunting, training or something just to get out of camp. He was full of amazing energy and wanted adventure. The sky looked like it wouldn't clear out anytime soon. Arrowpaw sighed and slowly closed his eyes......

"You can learn alot from the rain, you know," A brown cat spoke from behind the obviously bored Arrowpaw. Smiling, the deputy stepped forward, prodding the apprentice in the side. Figuring that he was probably thinking something like "yeah right," Eveningshower flicked her head towards the entrance. "Come on," She said, bounding off into the wet clearing. Slinking through the bramble, she headed into the thick of the forest. Pausing, her emerald eyes waited to see if he was following. Turning around again, she headed towards a stream, which she could hear from where she was standing. Upon reaching the bank, she crouched by the edge, seeing the rushing water just beneath her. Casting a glance over her shoulder, she waited for Arrowpaw to come to the shore aswell, before looking back to the water. "Look," She said, her forpaw reaching over the side to point at the rippling waves lapping at thje bank they rested on. The downpour continued, pelting against her fur, but the deputy hardly noticed. The rain fell as Arrowpaw stared at the rippling waves. His pelt was slick with rain and it was hard to concentrate with him being wet. Finally he asked. "I don't see anything to water"He told his Mentor, ocean green eyes glowing in the dim light.

Eveningshower watched her apprentice study the water for a few moments before replying. Laughing, she turned away from the water, paws steadily placed on the ground to keep good footing in the rain. "You don't, do you?" She asked in mock confusion, "Well, maybe you should get a closer look," She said, winking a moment before to warn him. The next second, the deputy's paw lashed out, claws carefully seathed, and whacked into the back of her apprentice, only hard enough to knock him into the water. If he were to fall, as she hoped, she'd be ready to leap after him if he needed it. "You need to know how to swim in strong currents, and you need to know how to get out of a stream when the banks are wet and slippery," Eveningshower told him, watching the Apprentice carefully. Drizzleclan's deputy always had a fun way of teaching her apprentices things they'd need to know when they grew up. Her emerald gaze didn't leave her apprentice for one moment, carefully watching him to make sure he wasn't hurt. The rain, which still fell in a downpour, padded against her brown back, but once again, the she-cat payed no attention to it.

Arrowpaw's head came shooting out of the water and he huddled on the muddy bank, claws unsheathed to keep hold. "But its freezing!" Arrowpaw chattered. Now he was completely soaked from the rain and the lake. He shook himself and tried to get dry. Then,he playfully jumped on his mentor, pawing at her sides, claws sheathed.

The deputy watched her apprentice clawing his way up the bank, she nodded approvingly, emerald eyes still locked on the younger cat just to be sure. "Good job!" She called over the beat of the rain, smiling as he got his footing together. "Yes it is, you also needed to figure out how to keep your body temerature maintained," She added, laughing at the shivering cat that was huddled before her. But she laughed too early, as her apprentice was quick to jump at her, pawing at her sides. Eveningshower smiled, rolling backwards in playfullness and swatting at her apprentice's paws with her own in defense. The deputy rose to her paws, leaping to the side of her apprentice, purposly 'missing' him and turning to swat a paw at him again, claws seathed. Ignoring the downpour, just like always, she leapt at Arrowpaw playfully. So she had shown him how to swim in rushing waters and how to claw his way out of a stream when the banks were wet, and now they were practicing they're fighting skills. All in a fun way, too. She made a mental note that when this was over, she'd have to show him the best way to stay warm after something like this happened in the future. But for right now, she could ignore that, and just have fun.

Arrowpaw smiled and jumped on her back, the rain beating down on them. He playfully bit her ear and pawed at her belly."Got you!"He yowled over the rain as he pinned her down in the mud of the bank, a look of excitement and happiness gleamed in the young tom's ocean green eyes.

Eveningshower laughed as the two rolled backwards, Arrowpaw ending up the victor. She watched him yell in excitement when he pinned her down, feeling the cool mud against her back. "Yes you did," she said, pushing him off of her as she rose to her paws, shaking the mud from her fur. Stretching her legs one at a time, she looked at the apprentice an smiled, emerald green eyes shining with laughter as she shook her head. "Okay, Okay, enough training for today. Let's head back to camp and get you dried up," She said, nudging the tom towards the camp entrance and forgetting that she was soaking wet too, the water dripping off of her. Looking to the sky, she watched the clouds moving through the air and noticed that the rain would probably stop sooner more likely than later. She turned her head back to the path before her, and walked behind the apprentice, seeing if he could find the way back to camp, even though she knew he could do so easily.

"Yes Eveningshower!"Arrowpaw meowed as he dashed to the camp. The sky looked as if the rain might stop soon thought the young tom. His eyes glowed with a rich intensity, the looked of ocean green fire. The water from the down-pour slipped down the apprentices back as it was already slick with rain. His white paws and chest were brown with mud but he didn't mind as he padded into camp, with his mentor following.

Eveningshower had to quicken her pace, not expecting the apprentice to have such energy after all of that exersize earlier. When she entered the camp, having to duck to get out of the bramble's reach, she looked to the apprentice den. "The warrior's den seems more dry," she commented aloud, "Go rest in there, Arrowpaw, I'll tell everyone you're allowed to. But first, grab something to eat, you don't want to rest hungry," The mentor suggested, grabbing a thrush herself and padding into a corner where the rain wasn't able to reach her. "I'm going to stay out here and arrange the patrols for the rest of the day," She told him, and began to eat the prey before her. Eveningshower took small bites, savoring the sweet taste of the fresh thrush. She had to organize a sun-high patrol, even though the sun wasn't technically visible at the moment.

Arrowpaw's eyes glowed with happiness as there was no words he could say to thank his mentor. He grabbed a mouse and padded to the Warrior's den. He layed right outside of it and ate his fresh-kill with care, knowing that soon prey would be scarce.

The deputy smiled at her apprentice's delight, laughing to herself as he proudly padded over to the warrior's den. She knew he'd be happy about being able to use the warrior's den. Eveningshower took a bite of her own prey, the thrush between her paws, and also took care in noting that soon the prey would be scarce. Now she didn't have to ignore the pattering against her back, as it grew lighter and lighter every minute, a sure sign that the rain would soon stop. When she finished it, she scraped dirt over it, burrying the remains. The she-cat looked around, trying to find some of the warriors that would go on a patrol, and possibly some apprentices aswell.
